Fathom’s Start Real Estate Enters Utah, Arizona And Nevada

Fathom Holdings Inc. announced Tuesday that its subsidiary, START Real Estate, is expanding into Utah, Arizona and Nevada — the first phase of a broader nationwide rollout of more than 15 states over the next year.

The move marks an effort by Fathom to deepen its reach with first-time homebuyers — a segment that accounted for a record-low share of 21% of home purchases during the year ending in June 2025, according to data from the National Association of Realtors.

START is headquartered in Colorado. It was founded by Randy and Terri Bell and has 70 agents. START said it expects to close roughly 400 transactions this year, with a mortgage attach rate of more than 70%. 

“We are excited to announce the beginning of the expansion of the START team across the U.S.,” said Marco Fregenal, CEO of Fathom Holdings. “Expanding into these markets allows us to bring our title and settlement expertise to a broader client base and better serve homebuyers, sellers and real estate professionals nationwide.

“START Real Estate has a proven track record of delivering an over 70% mortgage attach rate, and we expect similar results as the program expands into new markets.”

Founded to guide first-time homebuyers through every step of homeownership, START Real Estate has a model that combines education, personalized agent support and Fathom’s proprietary technology.

The company hopes to bridge the gap for an often-underserved buyer demographic, leveraging Fathom’s existing agent network and infrastructure to scale quickly, according to a press release.
