Corcoran Launches New Mexico Affiliate In Santa Fe

The Corcoran Group has expanded its affiliate network into New Mexico with the launch of Corcoran Plaza Properties in Santa Fe.

The firm is led by broker and CEO Rob Thorwald and will cover the city and surrounding areas of northern New Mexico up to the Colorado border.

The business traces its roots to 1986, when Edward W. “Wally” Sargent founded Santa Fe Properties, a brokerage that grew into one of the region’s leading firms.

Now operating as Corcoran Plaza Properties, the office includes more than 65 agents and support staff. In 2024, the company represented sellers in the city’s highest-priced home sale of the year.

Thorwald — who first visited Santa Fe in 1982 and later moved to the city — previously worked in management consulting and business strategy.

Corcoran Plaza Properties will focus on residential properties, farms, ranches and some commercial listings in neighborhoods including Downtown/Eastside, Las Campanas, Monte Sereno, Eldorado and the Foothills.
