Bright Mls, Ocusell Team Up On Joint Venture For Listings

Bright MLS and multi-MLS listing management platform Ocusell are teaming up to launch a joint venture to co-develop and license technology solutions and services for brokers, agents and MLSs nationwide.
In an announcement on Thursday, the companies said this move offers brokers and MLSs across the country the first unified “one-to-many” listing creation and compliance solution. According to the release, the joint venture will give agents and brokers access to more powerful tools to manage and analyze listings, drive affiliated services business and serve clients.
“Right from the get-go, Ocusell’s mission was to provide interoperability and connectedness to the MLS landscape and to provide brokers with the centralized control of their listings,,” Hayden Rieveschl, the CEO and founder of Ocusell, said. “This is an industry that has been highly fragmented for a long time. Seventy percent of brokers are members of two or more MLSs — it is a big hairy problem.”
Initial tools planned by the joint venture will be focused on broker and MLS needs, such as solving challenges that arise out of doing business in multiple markets and across multiple MLS platforms with different rules. Products and tools offered by the joint venture are expected to be available before the end of the year.
“I’m really excited about these two companies coming together with different approaches to what they do, with with the same goal and outcome in mind, which is to help brokers reduce their pain points and provide consumers with a better real estate experience all around,” Brian Donnellan, the CEO of Bright MLS, said.
To simplify listing entries across multiple MLSs, the joint venture will incorporate Ocusell’s List+ into Bright’s Listing Manager, which is part of its newly launched Bright Solutions suite.
“We are coming together so we can capitalize beyond the market we have now,” Donnellan said.
Rieveschl added: “We want MLSs of any size to be able to afford these capabilities and without this JV it wouldn’t be possible. With the JV it is possible for everyone to achieve the goal of interoperability and that is a huge piece of our overall value proposition and why it is so important for us to work together.”
Looking ahead, the companies said they plan to co-develop new analytics, data management and compliance product features through the joint venture.
