We Are Blessing And Releasing!

Hi Burnt Toasties,
One of the chores on my garden to do list is to pull out several large lavender plants. They’ve been limping along for several years, getting increasingly brittle, woody and grumpy. So it’s time to accept that these sun-loving beauties aren’t made for my shady woodland garden. Which is sad, but reminds me of ’s dating advice from last week’s podcast episode: “You will not be for everyone, and not everyone’s going to be for you.” Plus now I get to pick something else to plant that will like it here! Time to bless and release the lavender, as Bri would say!
Speaking of advice, I am still reading and loving all of your wisdom on this piece. And scroll on for some other good reads and treats for your Sunday!

Two Things I Love
1. Bird feeders
We just moved our feeders to a new spot in the yard, and that plus springtime = allll the birds!! I have talked before about my beloved Bird Buddy, which has a camera and texts you awesome pics like this one, and I also swear by a squirrel-proof pole like this one. You may also want a hummingbird feeder; my mother texts me every year the last week of April to remind me to hang one up and as soon as I do, they arrive!
2. Garden gnome clogs
As I said in our first installment of Garden Toast, I can’t understand why these Birkenstock clogs haven’t gone viral like the Boston clogs, but I’m determined to make them happen. They are perfect for slipping on for a morning garden putter and then I just hose them off and leave on the back steps to dry when I’m done. I also think they are legit cute?! My middle schooler vehemently disagrees!!! (Because someone will ask: The jeans are these, but only go up to a 35, roughly a women’s 20.)
