Michelle Obama Opened Up About Her Dating Past — & Her Game-changing Advice For Sasha & Malia

Former US President and First Lady, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, have given their daughters a lot of advice over the years, especially since they had to navigate the spotlight at such a young age. But Michelle just revealed the golden rule for dating; and it seems her children definitely follow it!

During her podcast, IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson, she spoke about the dating advice she gave both of her daughters.

“I just try to get them to stay open to people,” she said. “The thing that I did do was date a lot. When Barack showed up, I had experiences to compare him against.”

She added, “Barack and I talk about our dating experiences. We try to educate the girls by sharing our experiences. So my whole thing is date. Date a lot, and if you run into a bad date or have a bad experience, move on quickly. If it’s not working, next.”

Sasha Obama and Malia Obama have always been on the private side with their personal lives, but it seems they also know their worth and aren’t afraid to do what’s right for them!

For those who don’t know, the former US President and First Lady met back in 1989 at the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, where Michelle was assigned as Barack’s mentor. Later that same year, they started dating and in 1992, they tied the knot.

Then, Michelle and Barack welcomed two daughters through IVF named Malia Ann, born on July 4, 1998, and Natasha (better known as Sasha), born on June 10, 2001.
