Sprinter Health, an on-demand mobile health company that partners with home-based care agencies and health plans, has raised $55 million in a Series B financing round led by General Catalyst.

The round, which included participation from Andreessen Horowitz Bio+ Health and other existing investors, brings Sprinter’s total raise to over $125 million.

San Francisco-based Sprinter operates in 18 states and plans to reach 22 states by the end of summer 2025, using its newly raised cash to support its growth.

“We’re growing the team significantly across all areas – clinical, engineering, AI and operations,” Co-founder and CEO Max Cohen told Home Health Care News. “These funds will support that growth as we continue to refine our logistics technology. We’re also rapidly adding geographic regions to have more coverage for our payer partners.”

Sprinter combines a virtual team of nurse practitioners and specialists with in-home care staff who are cross-trained as medical assistants, community health workers and phlebotomists. Its caregivers have completed nearly 100,000 in-home visits on behalf of national health plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.

The company’s technology-enabled approach is designed to expand the geographic reach of its workforce, allowing them to see more patients and improve care access.

Cohen said Sprinter’s employees often connect with patients who have not interacted with a health care provider in years, so the company uses appointments as an opportunity to provide resources and connect patients with other types of care.

“This can take many forms – education, direct scheduling for follow-up appointments with physicians, direct test results, etc,” Cohen said. “ [Sprinter staff] are trained to not only administer these tests and diagnostics, but to ask the right questions, recognize patients’ unmet needs that extend beyond the clinical, and most importantly, teach each person with kindness, compassion and empathy.”
