Pennant Acquires Healing Hearts Home Health, Expanding Wyoming Footprint

On Wednesday, the Pennant Group (Nasdaq: PNTG) announced that it has acquired Healing Hearts Home Health and Healing Hearts Outpatient Therapy.
Healing Hearts offers home health, non-medical home care and outpatient therapy services, serving seven communities in Wyoming.
The deal was completed on Monday. Both the home health agency and the outpatient therapy operation will continue operating under their own brands, serving communities in Gillette and Moorcroft, Wyoming.
“Health care should meet people where they are,” Brent Guerisoli, CEO of Pennant, said in a statement. “By expanding our home health and outpatient therapy network, we can now serve more Wyoming residents with the same compassionate and personalized care our communities have come to trust.”
Eagle, Idaho-based Pennant is the parent company of independently operating home health, hospice and senior living companies, including over 120 home health and hospice agencies. It operates across 14 states.
Healing Hearts Home Health was previously owned by a group of medical professionals, according to the WayBack Machine.
The deal comes as some home health providers are cutting back on acquisitions due to the proposed Medicare home health rate cut for 2026. New Day Healthcare, for instance, has slowed down its home health dealmaking pace, while not backing down on acquisitions in other industries.
Pennant, however, has stayed active on the acquisition front. In July, Pennant acquired GrandCare Health Services in Southern California. The company also plans to acquire between 38 and 50 home health and hospice agencies divested by Amedisys and UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH) following their merger – a deal that will cost between $113 million and $147 million.
Guerisoli said in May that the company would “continue to evaluate a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities in both segments” beyond the UnitedHealth and Amedisys deal. The Healing Hearts deal shows that the company is acting on that commitment.
“Our local operating model has proven uniquely suited to the challenges that face providers in the Intermountain West,” John Gochnour, president and chief operating officer of Pennant, said. “This acquisition strengthens our ability to invest in people and programs that will improve care delivery across Eastern Wyoming.”
