Tsitsipas Serves Up Tzatziki Joke Amid Djokovic's Rumored Athens Move

Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas playfully jabbed at his great rival Novak Djokovic on social media Tuesday, teasing him about widely circulating reports that the Serbian legend is planning to relocate to Athens.

Responding to the buzz on the social media platform X, Mr. Tsitsipas shared a photo of the two competitors during a past match at Wimbledon and imagined a lighthearted conversation about going into business together.

“Novak: ‘So, when are we opening that Greek taverna?’” Mr. Tsitsipas wrote, voicing a fictional query from Mr. Djokovic.

He then offered his own imagined reply: “Me: ‘When you finally learn how to make tzatziki without using soy yogurt.’”

The tongue-in-cheek comment, a nod to Mr. Djokovic’s famously strict diet, quickly drew thousands of likes and amused reactions from tennis fans. It adds a layer of off-court humor to one of modern tennis’s most compelling rivalries.

The post was prompted by persistent rumors in Greek and Serbian media over the past few weeks that Mr. Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, is looking for a permanent family home in the seaside suburbs of Athens.

While there has been no official confirmation from Mr. Djokovic or his team, the speculation was enough to inspire the gentle ribbing from his Greek counterpart.
