Tp-link Introduces Wi-fi 8 To Malaysia, With Focus On Connection Stability

TP-Link today has officially introduced Wi-Fi 8 in Malaysia, making the country the first in Asia-Pacific to launch the company’s next-generation wireless networking technology. Unlike previous generations that have largely focused on increasing connection speeds, Wi-Fi 8 places greater emphasis on network stability and reliability, particularly as more devices compete for bandwidth in increasingly crowded environments.

Based on the upcoming IEEE 802.11bn standard, Wi-Fi 8 incorporates TP-Link’s Wi-Fi 8 StabilityEngine system, which is designed to improve coverage, manage network congestion and reduce interference. The technology is expected to provide more consistent connectivity across large, crowded or multi-storey premises. It is also designed to improve connections for devices located further from access points and maintain performance during periods of heavy network traffic.

TP-Link says these improvements could benefit environments such as offices, university campuses, hotels, retail outlets, hospitals and factories, where unstable connections can disrupt operations. The same approach could also benefit households with multiple smartphones, smart TVs and smart-home devices connected to a single network. However, Wi-Fi 8 is not yet commercially available, and the company has not provided a local release date or pricing for its upcoming products.

TP-Link also showcased its Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh Wi-Fi system earlier during its APAC Summit 2026 in Kuala Lumpur. Alongside them is the company’s Omada Wi-Fi 8 platform, which is aimed at business networking deployments. However, TP-Link did not disclose further specifications, pricing or availability details for these Wi-Fi 8 products in its announcement.

Apart from Wi-Fi 8, the company introduced the Fusion Pro Series, which combines network infrastructure and security management under a single platform for businesses. It also announced plans to establish the Omada-VIGI AI Application Developer Alliance, which aims to  bring together AI companies, independent developers and technology partners to integrate its networking and surveillance technologies with AI applications. According to TP-Link, the alliance will focus on potential deployments in areas such as smart classrooms, retail outlets, factories and hospitality venues.

The company also announced the signing of memorandums of understanding (MoU) with three Malaysian universities to introduce Omada networking courses and practical training. The initiative aims to develop local technical expertise in networking and support the country’s growing demand for connectivity infrastructure.
