Apple CEO Tim Cook made a virtual appearance at U.S. President Trump’s meeting of business CEOs. Cook, who “attended” the meeting via satellite, reaffirmed Apple’s committment to working with the administration.

Cook is continuing to handle Trump with kid gloves, as that has previously resulted in favorable results when Trump made tariff decisions both in his previous term and his current one. Cook appeared by satellite at a publicity meeting between Trump and around 20 business leaders, on April 30, 2025, according to a report by Fox Business.

After apologizing that he couldn’t be present in person, Cook repeated his standard remark that, “Apple could only have been created in the United States.”

“We are a uniquely American company, and we care deeply about our impact on this country,” the politically saavy Cook, who then highlighted Apple’s work in the United States, including the company’s reframing of normal business projects as the company’s promised $500 billion of new investment in US production.

“I want to take a moment to recognize President Trump’s focus on domestic semiconductor manufacturing,” said Cook, “and we will continue to work with the administration as we invest in these areas.”

“Needless to say, we are excited for the future of American innovation and the incredible opportunities it will create,” he continued, “and we are honored to do our part.”

While Cook attended Trump’s meeting virtually, other CEOs were present in person, including Nvidia’s Jensen Huang, as well as executives from Pratt Factories, Johnson & Johnson, and others large US companies.

Most of the meeting took place in a White House room that contained examples of the attending executives’ firms core businesses. In addition to an Apple Silicon wafer signed by Cook, a Pratt & Whitney engine was also on display.

Trump, while milking the PR aspect of the meeting for all its worth, also reportedly met in private with the business leaders. While tariffs were not said to be officially on the agenda, we can almost guarantee the subject came up in discussions.
