Samsung Reshuffle Signals Major Shift In Ai, Chip And Robotics

Samsung today revealed the details of its organizational reshuffle for 2026. Samsung has promoted 161 executives, including 51 executive vice presidents and 93 vice presidents. It’s the first YoY since 2021, with 137 being promoted last year.

The company upleveled the ranks of 161 individuals, including 51 Executive Vice Presidents, 93 Senior Vice Presidents, 1 Fellow, and 16 Masters.

Samsung heavily appointed leaders who will spearhead future technologies in areas such as AI, Robotics, and Semiconductors to proactively respond to rapid changes in the industrial paradigm and secure leadership.

Besides, the promotions for 2026 indicate that Samsung is ramping up its efforts to prepare for the global AI boom. The South Korean tech giant is also focusing on chips and robotics strategy apart from AI semiconductors.

Samsung said the reshuffle “laid the foundation for sustainable growth by securing future technology leadership.”

Minsuk Kang

DX Division, MX Business Unit, Smartphone PP Team Leader, Minsuk Kang (EVP, 49 years old)

A product planning expert with experience in both Mobile S/W development and smartphone planning, enhancing smartphone product competitiveness by planning the world’s first AI phone with Galaxy AI and new ultra-slim form factor concepts like the S25 Edge, Fold7/Flip7.

Yoonsoo Lee

DX Division, Samsung Research Data Intelligence Team Leader, Yoonsoo Lee (EVP, 50 years old)

A Data Intelligence expert who created results in developing data-based new technologies and business models, leading the application of the personalized data platform to Galaxy and GPU optimization for AI services.

Samsung is prioritising youth in its leadership, with the reshuffle aimed at 2026 includes young employees in their 30s and 40s. This move reflects the company’s efforts to continue a “generational transition” in management.

“In order to promptly execute future strategic businesses, we have appointed competitive talents who have demonstrated capabilities in areas including AI, robotics and semiconductors,” the company said.
