Princess Of Wales’ Brother James Hails ‘unique’ Sibling Bond With Kate & Reveals How Royal Helped Him At His ‘lowest’

THE brother of the Princess of Wales, James Middleton, has spoken out about the “unique bond” he shares with his royal sister.

The 38-year-old revealed how Kate helped him through his darkest times.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the 38-year-old entrepreneur explained how Kate and their sister Pippa have “always been there” for him.

He said Kate helped him through his “lowest” moments, when he considered ending his own life.

He also offered credit to his cocker spaniel, Ella, who is honoured in his book.

James praised the princess’ strength and resilience, explaining how Kate, 43, and their sister Pippa, 41, had helped him throughout his life.

Kate’s strength and resilience was demonstrated to the nation last year when the princess revealed she was in the early stages of cancer treatment.

She married Prince William in 2011 and is now a devoted mother to their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Kate, who is now in remission, was praised alongside sister Pippa and mother Carole, 70, for helping James in his lowest moments.

James explained how the three had always been “emotionally open, expressive and in tune with the people around them.”

He added that during a mental health crisis in 2017 the strong women around him helped him pull through.

He said: “They’ve always been emotionally open, expressive, and in tune with the people around them, and I think being surrounded by that kind of emotional intelligence rubbed off on me, even if I didn’t fully realise it.

“Looking back, I think it gave me permission, in a way, to feel things more deeply and to name those feelings when they came up.

“But having strong women around me who led with compassion and honesty definitely helped me learn that vulnerability wasn’t weakness, it was strength.”

The entrepreneur and mental health advocate has previously spoken about his “rebirth” from depression after undergoing therapy.

Despite the royal public image Kate must maintain James says she is a sensitive, strong and emotionally intelligent woman.

He fondly recalled growing up in their childhood home together with business owner mum Carole and British Airways Manager dad Michael, 75.

As well as the strong women in his life James credits his cocker spaniel Ella for saving his life.

He said the dog “gave him a reason to get up, to go outside, to care.”

James married French financial analyst Alizee Thevenet in 2021 and decided to write his book when he discovered the pair were expecting their first baby.

His book, titled ‘Meet Ella The Dog Who Saved My Life‘ credits the pup for her role in his life, Ella sadly passed away in 2023

James and Alizee’s son, Ingigo, is now 20 months old.

The future queen is making a gradual return to public royal duties after completing her cancer treatment.

In the aftermath of his sister’s cancer diagnosis, Mr Middleton showed his support with a touching Instagram tribute to his older sister.

In an emotional video put out by the princess her own dog, Orla, featured.

Kate stressed the importance of spending time outdoors in her video.

The Wales’ pup was a gift from Kate’s brother James, who is known for breeding dogs.

The Sun revealed that pooch Orla recently gave birth to quads.

James Middleton bred Kate and William’s previous dog Lupo and Orla’s parents.

It has not yet been decided what the Wales’ will do with the four new puppies.

Royal children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis have already fallen in love with the new arrivals.
