Please Guide Me Through The Ins And Out Of Setting Up A Website.

I need to learn about domains/naming, hosting, and design. How to get traffic from social media. How to showcase and sell material online. I'm familiar with ETSY and DeviantArt and have been a fan of Juxtapoz magazine for years but... this is a kind of special circumstance because there is an existing clientele and audience but the artist needs a solid professional web presence to do some 21st century style business. Are there examples of such websites? Much more inside.

Here's the scoop. This is for my stepson. He's a notable artist in our region (San Diego, CA). He's done murals around the city. He's done work for famous Low-Rider builders. I think he's the only gringo to be invited to work on a mural in Barrio Logan's Chicano Park. His name is on a plaque there. He did a corporate gig for Sun Bum and frequently does the custom artwork on Pro Signature model surfboards for Rusty. He's also been interviewed and featured in a few magazines.

He works six days a week and long hours but is stuck in "working for cheap to get the word out there" mode. I want to help him take it to the next level. He doesn't have the time or patience for this kind of work so I'm taking it up for him. Should I just HIRE someone? : ) Is that an option?
