New No. 1 In Sec Power Rankings Entering Final Weekend

It's the final week of the regular season. After this weekend's action, it's SEC Tournament time followed by the NCAA Tournament.
The SEC title race has been fantastic and the Oklahoma Sooners have put themselves in a familiar position in their first season in the SEC. Despite a pair of series losses to Tennessee and Alabama, Oklahoma pulled together and responded with a six-game winning streak in conference play while averaging seven runs a game in the process.
The SEC regular season title will now come down to OU, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. The Volunteers will host the Aggies this weekend in Knoxville while the Sooners go on the road to play the Florida Gators, one of the preseason favorites to win the national title.
Despite the midseason setback, the Sooners are back on top of the standings and of the top 25 rankings across the sport. So, where did they land in this week's SEC Power Rankings? Back where they belong at No. 1.

1. Oklahoma Sooners (42-5, 16-5)
The Texas Longhorns were a lot of people's pick to win the Women's College World Series this year and be the team to finally put an end to Oklahoma's dominant run.
Remaining SEC Opponents: at Florida
2. Tennessee Volunteers (39-11, 14-7)
The Tennessee Volunteers hold series wins over Texas and Oklahoma but that was a different Sooners team that they played back in March.
Remaining SEC Opponents: vs. Texas A&M
3. Texas Longhorns (42-9, 13-8)
The Texas Longhorns had an opportunity to assert themselves at the top of the sport but OU has their number. It took furious comebacks in game one and two to make the series look respectable.
Remaining SEC Opponents: vs. Kentucky
4. Arkansas Razorbacks (36-10, 12-9)
Arkansas' series win over Texas A&M was a statement to the teams projected to be in the postseason. They're a dangerous team with Bri Ellis leading the way.

5. Texas A&M Aggies (41-8, 14-6)
Well, at least they were at the top of the sport for a minute. They'll always have that. The Aggies still have a shot at the SEC regular season title, but they'll need to sweep the Tennessee Volunteers and Oklahoma will have to lose their series to the Florida Gators.

6. LSU Tigers (39-11, 11-10)
LSU also made a statement last week with their series win over the Florida Gators. It was a much needed performance after going 1-5 against Texas A&M and Texas in their previous two SEC series.

7. Florida Gators (41-12, 12-9)
The Gators had an opportunity to make this weekend in Gainesville a matchup for the regular season title. But the LSU Tigers knocked Florida out of the title race. Still a dangerous team, the Gators will be looking for an opportunity to play spoiler to close out the regular season.

8. Mississippi State Bulldogs (35-15, 11-10)
It was a slugfest in Lexington as Mississippi State took two of three from the Kentucky Wildcats. The Bulldogs scored a total of 27 runs. They'll finish the season with a rivalry week matchup vs. Ole Miss.

9. Alabama Crimson Tide (35-18, 11-10)
Alabama took care of business last weekend against last-place Missouri, earning the three-game sweep. A strong rebound performance after losing two of three to the Florida Gators. The Crimson Tide are middle of the pack in the SEC in pitching and hitting.
Remaining SEC Opponents: at South Carolina
10. Ole Miss Rebels (34-14, 10-11)
Ole Miss took game one from the Tennessee Volunteers last weekend and then proceeded to score just one run over the next two games. The Rebels are good enough to do some damage in tournament play, but are they good enough to make a deep run?
Remaining SEC Opponents: at Mississippi State
11. South Carolina Gamecocks (36-13, 11-10)
South Carolina's had a good season but a series loss to Auburn, who previously was just 4-17 in SEC play stings. The Gamecocks can get back on the right track before SEC tournament play with a big home series against Alabama.

12. Kentucky Wildcats (29-22, 7-14)
Kentucky showed in their game two win that they can put runs on the board. They're just not consistent enough. After earning the 14-8 win over Mississippi State, they were shut out 5-0 the next day.

13. Georgia Bulldogs (29-17, 6-14)
The Bulldogs picked up a big nonconference win over Georgia Tech but haven't played an SEC series in two weeks. Can they close the season on a high note against the Missouri Tigers?

14. Auburn Tigers (30-21, 6-18)
Auburn gave their NCAA Tournament hopes a huge boost with the series win over Ole Miss, but that still might not be enough. The Tigers will need to go on a serious run in the SEC Tournament to have a shot.
Remaining SEC Opponents: Done with SEC Play
15. Missouri Tigers (23-29, 4-17)
Missouri hasn't won a series in SEC play but they've earned wins over Oklahoma and Texas A&M. They've also been swept three times in conference play. Can they finish the season on a high note and earn a series win over Georgia?
