KUCHING (Sept 16): The next chapter of The NorthBank here has officially begun.

Ibraco Berhad has unveiled NorthBank Business Exchange (NBX) and NBX Residence I, marking one of the most significant milestones in the township’s development and bringing to life a vision that has been thoughtfully planned over the years – a “city within a city” designed for the way people will live, work and connect in the future.

The official launch was graced by Deputy Premier and Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government, Sarawak YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian.

He highlighted NBX as an example of how private sector development can complement the Sarawak Government’s efforts to build a more connected, liveable and sustainable Kuching.

NBX brings together business, residences, retail, mall, healthcare, mobility, leisure, wellness, community spaces and everyday conveniences within one integrated precinct, creating a more complete urban ecosystem.

Its development is supported by two significant infrastructure milestones – the SM07 NorthBank Ibraco ART Station, forming part of the ART Blue Line connecting Rembus in Kota Samarahan to Kuching City Centre, and the upcoming Regency Specialist Hospital Kuching, a 300-bed smart tertiary hospital with an investment of more than RM400 million in its first phase. A dedicated SkyLink bridge will connect NBX directly to the hospital.

At the heart of the residential offering is NBX Residence I, the first residential component within the NBX precinct.

Offering 268 units across two towers, Residence I features a range of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom layouts, as well as dual-key units, catering to different household needs. It also introduces dedicated mobility-friendly units, reflecting Ibraco’s focus on more inclusive and adaptable living.

Residents will enjoy a range of lifestyle facilities including gyms, swimming pool, reading area, KTV room, board and games room, playground and landscaped spaces.

It is designed to offer more than a home – it places residents within close reach of the wider NBX ecosystem, supporting greater convenience, independence and connectivity.

Complementing the residences is the NBX Mall, a neighbourhood mall anchored by a modern hypermarket concept and designed to introduce a new generation of community retail to the rapidly growing Kuching–Kota Samarahan corridor.

The mall comprises a cinema, indoor adventure park, enrichment centre, and a supermarket designed around an indoor marketplace or hypermarket concept.

It will combine everyday essentials with food, leisure, wellness, technology and community experiences, and future-ready shopping solutions such as self-checkout, smart trolley technology, enhanced loyalty programmes, with planned home delivery services further enhancing the customer experience.

NorthBank Mall will also feature diverse food & beverage offerings, featuring different fusion concepts and cuisines.

Adding another dimension is the community boulevard, envisioned as a vibrant gathering space for families and the wider community, with wellness activities, family programmes, weekend markets, performances, pop-ups and festive activities planned throughout the year.

For Ibraco, NBX represents more than a new property launch. It is a development shaped around the three principles of prosperity, sustainability and liveability, and reflects the important role of the private sector in creating places that support economic opportunities while enhancing quality of life.

By integrating homes, businesses, healthcare, mobility, retail and community spaces within one carefully planned precinct, NBX aims to create lasting value not only for residents and investors, but for the wider Kuching and Sarawak community.

With the official launch at Ibraco Gallery completed, NBX Residence I is now open for sale, with prices starting from above RM500,000.

Prospective purchasers are encouraged to visit Ibraco Gallery @ The NorthBank to experience the development first-hand, with two fully furnished show units available for viewing – a Typical Unit and a Mobility-Friendly Unit.

For those looking to discover more about NBX and its overall lifestyle proposition, Ibraco will also be bringing the development closer to the public through its NBX Launch Showcase at tHe Spring Mall, Kuching, from Sept 18 to 20, 2026.
