I’ve Made £2.5k On Vinted In Three Months – Here’s My Top Tips, Including The Best Day Of The Week To List Your Items

A WOMAN who’s made a whopping £2,500 on Vinted in just three months has revealed the best day of the week to list items to get them sold.
Laura has turned her passion for reselling into a successful side hustle, and has been posting videos on social media detailing some of her top tips and tricks.

“A Sunday is amazing,” she said in the TikTok.
“I feel that on a Saturday people have plans, Friday night people are perhaps out.
“It makes logical sense.
“We all know what it feels like everyone starts getting the Sunday scaries – in the early evening, in the late afternoon – and so all of a sudden they’re at home.
“They’re chilling out. They’re watching TV. Even if you’ve got kids you’re trying like wind your kids down a bit earlier on.
“So I feel like it gets to potentially four o’clock and people are scrolling on their phones… people are looking to buy!”
Laura went on to say she starts posting from around 11 or 12 o’clock, and then continues to “upload maybe five, six items throughout the day”.
But it’s after four o’clock that she gets the most response.
“So from four o’clock, if you’re thinking of trying it for the first time, try posting it and then try and upload a few items,” she advised.
“Don’t just do one and run.
“Try and do like four or five items on a Sunday and see what response you get.”
Her advice is tried and tested too, as she admitted that while she can sometimes have an “all right week”, when she posts things on a Sunday “everything I’ve been trying to sell just goes”.
And Laura definitely knows what she’s talking about – as she’s made thousands of pounds since she started using the app.
“If you’re not posting on this day… you need to be!!” Laura captioned her video.
“Can you delete all & repost again?” one person asked in the comments.
Do you need to pay tax on items sold on Vinted?
QUICK facts on tax from the team at Vinted...
- The only time that an item might be taxable is if it sells for more than £6,000 and there is profit (sells for more than you paid for it). Even then, you can use your capital gains tax-free allowance of £3,000 to offset it.
- Generally, only business sellers trading for profit (buying goods with the purpose of selling for more than they paid for them) might need to pay tax. Business sellers who trade for profit can use a tax-free allowance of £1,000, which has been in place since 2017.

“Yes, personally if I haven’t sold an item within 2-3 weeks I tend to delete and reupload, add more hashtags, add a long descriptive title and nice clear pics,” Laura replied.
“Payday week & on payday is also one of the best times to post & get sales,” another said.
“People more likely to buy an item they’ve favourited.”
“I find as soon as I’ve done the post drop, I get another round of buys!” a third laughed.
“Not complaining at all, it just makes me giggle!”
