Growth: What's The Fastest Path From 200 To 7000 Users? - I Will Not Promote

My co-founder and I want to find the path to 10k MRR so that we can raise a seed round.

We agree that our current monthly average revenue per user (ARPU) is around $1.50, so we’d like to find the fastest path to 7000 users from the 200 users we have now.

The big question on our minds is: How fast can we do that?

I’ve run a number of GPT models that say on the inside it could take 5 months and on the outside it could take 13 months. I’ve shown the models to an experienced marketer and they said the model projections looked reasonable.

My co-founder says this isn’t fast enough. He points to companies with hypergrowth like ChatPRD, Cursor, or Lovable; and says we need to hit targets more in line with their growth or it’s not worth pursuing the business.

We are an AI-first SaaS company with a SOM of business creators (founders, entrepreneurs, home business, side hustlers, etc.) who use digital tools and are looking for coaching. For reference, around 10M such people start a new business every year worldwide.

I’m pursuing fundamental growth strategies:

- creating content on YouTube (vlogs and shorts)

- posting and engaging on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Reddit

- optimizing our website for SEO

- using freebies to drive referrals, including on Beehiiv and our website

- planning for a Product Hunt launch

- going to networking events with our target customers

- working on partnerships to gain social proof

But maybe an average strategy gets average results?

Is there something more I should be doing that will make our business an outlier?

Am I doing the right thing but need to kill it on execution?

Do I simply need to maximize shots on goal, knowing that with persistent effort and iteratively better execution, eventually we should score?

How fast do YOU think our company could get to 7000 users? If you have an answer, I’d love to hear how you think we could do that.

If you need more information to answer, let me know. We’re building in public, and I’m happy to disclose anything that helps us get to the truth and success.
