Greed: Narratives And Consequences
Omnopoly Money by Sonja Drimmer
“We have words to describe Amazon and businesses of its ilk. Monopolies. Concerns. Multinationals. Oligopolies. Cartels. I’m sure there are others.
“But none of these words seems to capture the sheer dystopian creepiness of entities like Amazon (or Alphabet for that matter). Even megacorporation, which was taken up early on in science fiction, seems incapable of encompassing the unrelenting voracity, the all-consuming extractive will, the omnivorousness that characterizes their activities.”

Stocks Aren’t Salvation by Hamilton Nolan
The way that American investor capitalism works is that the managers are paid enough to manage the company in a way that funnels the maximum possible share of the money to the investors and the lowest possible share to the workers, and then the larger political project of companies is to minimize the tax share. Crucially, these incentives do not change when companies make a lot of money. There is no level of profit that causes a company or its investors to suddenly become altruistic.

@no_the_robotI’m not pro-AI, I’m anti-greedy humans. Much longer video on this topic coming soon. Let’s be very careful about our language: HUMANS are heating the planet, AI is just the vessel for their crimes. Meta, OpenAI, and the rest of these companies don’t want you to know that everything that Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg and others are saying in public in two investors isn’t actually real #ai #artist #chatgpt #sora #noai
AI is a *service*

One explanation for economic populism in the US is the recurring cycle of bubbles and bailouts that happens without any democratic input — Jake Grumbach

Like yeah there was the bailout but also no one went to fucking prison
I swear a Democrat could build an entire national campaign on “I will reintroduce fucking *consequences* to the equation, like we are going to make that a thing” and win on that alone — Sunny Moraine @dynamicsymmetry.bsky.social, Nov 24, 2025, 2:52 PM

Boycott:
MASS BLACKOUT: November 25 – December 2 — NO SPENDING. NO WORK. NO SURRENDER.
WE AIN’T BUYING IT: Nov. 27-Dec. 1 — “This action is taking direct aim at Target, for caving to this administration’s biased attacks on DEI; Home Depot, for allowing and colluding with ICE to kidnap our neighbors on their properties; and Amazon, for funding this administration to secure their own corporate tax cuts.”
(Also if you don’t know where the word boycott came from, it is named for what sounds like a deserving man.)
