Hyderabad: In the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack, DGP Jitender on Friday issued orders suspending visa services to Pakistani nationals living in Telangana with immediate effect. The police asked over 200 Pakistan nationals residing in Hyderabad and Telangana to leave the country immediately.

The direction came following the Centre’s decision to revoke all visas issued to Pakistani nationals and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s call to all Chief Ministers to take steps to ensure that all Pakistani nationals leave India.

Out of the 208 Pakistan nationals, at least 156 living in Telangana have long-term visas, 13 have received short-term visas, and 39 have obtained visas under medical and business purposes.

The DGP said that all existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals would stand revoked with effect from April 27. Medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will be valid only till April 29.

"It may be noted that the revocation of visas specified in the decision does not apply to holders of Long-Term Visas (LTVs) and diplomatic and official visas. Attari Border shall remain open for departure to Pakistanis up to April 30. It is advised to all Pakistani Nationals staying in Telangana to follow the guidelines to avoid any legal action," Jitender said.
