Casablanca Workshop Shows How Ai Can Boost Creativity, Not Be A Threat

Rabat — The US embassy in Morocco organized a workshop on Saturday covering AI and entrepreneurship in partnership with Art’s Factory in Casablanca.

Two American experts, including Cynthia Respert, Chief Operating Officer and Strategic Partner at Rebrand Cities, led the workshop alongside Meghan Hubbs, Small Business Program Manager at Velocity.

The workshop tackled topics for young entrepreneurs, including how AI can be used to enhance creativity rather than replace it.

The event also sought to showcase how artistic skills can be transformed into viable professional opportunities.

In this context, Hubbs talked about how young entrepreneurs can turn their creative talents into a real business.

She told Morocco World News (MWN) that the workshop taught how to make money  “using the tools I’ve used with our small businesses and entrepreneurs in the United States.” Hubbs hopes to see youth taking advantage of the workshop, stressing that the beginning is always the “biggest hurdle” in any project.

“That’s universal,” she said, urging people to act. “The message is just do something. Just try,” she added.

Respert, a certified AI architect, demonstrated how artificial intelligence can amplify creativity rather than replace it in a session titled “AI as a Creative Partner, Not a Threat.” 

“What we did was frame a perspective of how AI is an extension of us, not the extinction of us, how we can use AI as an amplifier for our creative talents. There are some concerns in terms of privacy, copyright, and who owns the material,” she told MWN.

For Respert, people should not fear or fight AI  but rather know how to wield the tool in its proper place.

“So we use it, and it does not use us. The train has already left the station. It is accelerating at a place that is faster than any time in human history, so we need to find ways to intelligently, responsibly, and ethically use it to our advantage,” she said.

The two experts are on a visit to Morocco as part of the Professional Fellows Program, an exchange initiative funded by the US Department of State. In addition to Casablanca, the two industry professionals also conducted workshops in Rabat, Laayoune, Marrakech, Benguerir, and Casablanca.
