Anyone Have Two Phones Or Two Lines For Work/personal?
Currently struggling with how to keep boundaries between work and personal. At my old job, I was overworked but nothing I was working on was ever an emergency if it went down, so I got a separate work phone and work line that I pay for myself. I was contracted, so they wouldn't pay. Helped a lot with boundaries and mental health.
Now, I'm in a new role where if things go down I need to notify the business asap. I've only been doing it two months but I have already received important things after hours that I need to respond to on Outlook and Teams. No one has called my number, yet, BUT the business did request to have it -- so I need to be reachable.
Here's my dilemma:
If I need to be reachable, I can't really have a separate phone I leave at home after 5 or on weekends.
I don't want to carry two phones on personal time.
I thought about putting both lines on my personal phone with dual eSIM and keeping Teams/Outlook on a separate phone but then that phone would have no data when I'm onsite with business and what if I need access to either if I get a call? And this completely defeats the purpose having a separate line for work, doesn't it?
Anyone have two phones/lines and have a method that works for being reachable but also having boundaries?
