Hey, I’m Kevin, I’m 15. My family owns a store that prints various things like papers, but we also have a laminating/plastifying machine. Some restaurants already use us to print menus for their stores.
I just thought of a business idea: Canva offers free templates for menus. I could arbitrate this get restaurant menu templates from Canva, customize them for clients (changing prices, items, etc.), then print and deliver them. I’d clearly state in my Terms of Service that the designs are from Canva to avoid legal issues.
How I plan to do it:
- Run ads on Instagram (or another platform I’ll figure out later).
- Ask for a downpayment from the client before buying.
- Once paid, customize the menu with the client’s prices (e.g., burger: $5).
- Print the desired number of copies (charging more for extra copies).
- Ship them to the client.
Cost structure:
- Printing: 95 UYU (~$2.50 USD) per copy
- Design: $12 USD (~500 UYU)
- Copies (what the customer would pay): $2.50 USD (~100 UYU) each
- Shipping to restaurant: $7 USD
