14 Years Of Failing Fresh Start

Card image cap

I've started 10 businesses in 14 years.

-1 did well

-2 did ok short term

-7 were total flops, or non starters

I quit my job 14 years ago and started a business. It lasted 3 years and sort of farted along until I decided to kill it. I should have killed it after a year.

I had one opportunity to become a millionaire with a MVP that got attention from a company with money to splash but I sabotaged myself by some silly choices made with a hangover.

The only one business that did good I was an IT consultant and I had a great paying contract and other potential clients. I made bank. But after doing that for a while I was fed up with it, felt a little like I was being paid to LARP as an employee. I closed the business and left the country.

I did some follow up consultation work but by then the tech market collapsed and I never was able to get back into it. I also don't have the desire to do it now.

None of my passion ideas worked out either, maybe each one made between $50-500. And a few were total non starters.

My last two attempts failed so I decided to take a few months break.

So now I am unemployed and again thinking what to try next. Currently doing RnD and looking at start something again, something small. Drawing up a spreadsheet of ideas and seeing where I get. Still in early stages nothing solid. Got that fresh start feeling. Not optimistic yet neither pessimistic. I just don't expect too much.

IDK if anyone goes through these types of cycles.

Just wanted to share that.
