The Mustang Boss 429 Is Back And It’ll Cost You More Than A New Ferrari
- Revology reimagined the 1969 Boss 429 with a 710HP supercharged V8.
- Modern chassis, aluminum subframes, and updated tech make it new.
- Retro design hides luxury materials, fine trim, and modern reliability.
This is the Revology Boss 429, a car that blurs the line between past and present more convincingly than almost any other restomod on the market. Think of it as a 1969 Ford Mustang reborn for the 21st century, one that looks every inch the classic but drives with the polish of a modern machine.
It goes far beyond a typical restoration, having been re-engineered from the chassis up to blend contemporary power and handling with the unmistakable design and atmosphere of the original from the late 1960s.

Underpinning the new Boss 429 is a new chassis with aluminum subframes and a new suspension set-up, including double wishbones at the front and a three-link rear suspension.
The original Mustang Boss 429 housed a 429-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 producing 375 hp, a legend in its day for sheer displacement and bravado. Revology, however, chose not to simply modernize that motor.
Instead, it swapped it out for Ford’s modern supercharged 5.0-liter Coyote V8, a decision that injects refinement, reliability and considerable extra punch in equal measures.
As you would expect, the supercharged Coyote engine is much more powerful. It churns out 710 hp and can be paired to either a six-speed manual transmission or a 10-speed automatic. Of course, all of the power is sent through the rear wheels.
Then we move to the design. Revology’s model looks pretty much identical to the original, even though all of the steel body panels are new. This body has been assembled using automated spot welding, seam-welded joints, and heat-cured structural adhesive, ensuring it’s significantly more rigid than a standard model.
The show car has been finished in a bright shade of Lava Orange, lifted from the Porsche palette.

The interior has also been completely rebuilt and is now trimmed in high-quality white leather across the seats and door panels. There’s also black leather on the dashboard, steering wheel, and transmission tunnel, as well as wood on the dash and doors.
“The Boss 429 is one of the rarest and most desirable muscle cars ever built,” said Tom Scarpello, founder and CEO of Revology Cars. “The Revology Boss 429 is not a copy of that iconic model, but a redefinition of it, leveraging modern technology, engineering, and manufacturing processes to make it as reliable and fun to drive as it is to look at.”
Yes, It’ll Cost You A Fortune
Revology hasn’t said how many examples of the Mustang Boss 429 it plans to build over the next few years, but we know that half of next year’s production capacity of 50 units has already been sold. And if that doesn’t hint strongly enough at its exclusivity, prices start at $395,000.
