Mahindra Be6 Formula E Edition Looks More Rally Raid Than Formula
- The Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition debuts in India with extensive styling tweaks.
- The redesign goes beyond decals with new bumpers, lights, cladding, and skid plates.
- It also gets a Formula E-themed interior but no performance or chassis upgrades.
Mahindra has introduced a new version of the BE6 electric SUV one year after its debut in the Indian market. The BE6 Formula E Edition was created as a homage to the brand’s longtime commitment to the FIA championship, featuring a number of styling upgrades.
When it comes to special editions, automakers usually limit changes to colors, wheels, and decals. However, Mahindra went a step further, adding a redesigned bodykit into the mix.

The BE6 Formula E Edition gets a unique front bumper with round LED headlights and sculpted details. The new skid plate and the generous amount of plastic cladding in dark liquid metal make it look more like a dune-conquering rally car than a formula-inspired build. The rear bumper has also been redesigned, joined by a double spoiler. Furthermore, the vertical LEDs have been blocked for a cleaner look.
The model rides on a new set of 20-inch wheels, although it is also available with the 19-inch alloys of the standard BE6. The profile, glass roof, and pillars feature racing decals contrasting with the four available shades for the bodywork – Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Tango Red, and Stealth Black.

The fully electric SUV has also gained Formula E badges on the front fenders and special branding on the windshield. The cabin combines black upholstery with Firestorm Orange inserts, FIA-branded seat belts and plaque, the Formula E logo on the dashboard, and a custom startup animation.

Equipment is generous, with a standard digital cockpit, dual wireless charging, a Harman Kardon audio system, and an ADAS suite.
RWD Powertrain And Adaptive Suspension
The Formula E special doesn’t get any performance upgrades over the high-spec BE6; the rear-mounted electric motor makes 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) and 380 Nm (280.3 lb-ft) of torque. This allows a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.7 seconds and a top speed of 202 km/h (126 mph). Energy is stored in the larger 79 kWh battery, promising 500 km (311 miles) of real-world range.
As for the chassis, the flagship FE3 trim comes standard with adaptive suspension.
Pricing
The Mahindra BE6 Formula E Edition is priced from ₹23.69 lakh ($26,500) for the FE2 and from ₹24.49 lakh ($27,400) for the full-spec FE3. Unlike the Batman Edition that was limited to 300 units, the Formula E specials will be widely available – although still limited to the Indian market. The company will start accepting orders on January 14, with the first deliveries scheduled for February 14, 2026.
Besides the actual EV, Mahindra has also announced the BE6 Formula E Ride-On toddler car that will be available from April 2026 for ₹18,000 ($200).
Mahindra has been a constant presence in the Formula E championship since its inception in 2014. Over the years, the racing team has scored five victories and 29 podium finishes but has yet to win a title. Still, Mahindra will remain part of the grid in the upcoming GEN4 era starting in the 2026–2027 season.
