Jeep Honors Military Heritage With 2027 Wrangler Jl-2a

In the early stages of World War II, the U.S. Army needed a general purpose, lightweight four-wheel-drive vehicle that could handle tough terrain, carry cargo, and transport troops where they needed to go. The result was the Willys MB. After its success during the war, a civilian version was created in July 1945 called the Willys CJ-2A. The 11^th drop in the Twelve 4 Twelve series — the 2027 Jeep Wrangler JL-2A — pays tribute to this patriot.

This special edition comes with the same 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 that is standard on today’s Jeep Wranglers. It  is mated to your choice of an eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. The drivetrain also features Jeep’s proprietary Rock-Track HD Part-Time 4×4 system complemented by electronic-locking front and rear differentials and an electronic sway bar disconnect.

Available in both two- or four-door configurations, the JL-2A comes with an assortment of color options that are a “modern salute to the original CJ-2A’s color palette.” This special-edition Wrangler is available in Gobi, ’41, Bright White, Sting Gray, Ghost, and Joose.  Any color selected will come paired with color-matched fender flares, a three-piece hardtop, front and rear orange tow hooks, Dark Metallic Grey grille, and Joose-painted 17-inch Retro wheels wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich KO2 All-Terrain tires. Installed inside the grille is a standard TrailCam camera complete with integrated washer.

Nappa Heritage Tan leather seats combine nicely with the Nappa PUR instrument-panel mid-bolster; Rich Bison Brown door panels, lower instrument panel, and center console “create a rich striking environment.” Seen throughout the cabin is Bold Desert Orange stitching that provides a nice contrast to the tans and browns. Atop the exclusive Willys-Overland satin chrome shifter is a medallion that partners with the heritage-inspired HVAC vent graphics to pay tribute to Jeep’s roots.

The model-specific interior comes with the Standard Convenience Group that features remote start, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and universal garage door opener.

Jeep will begin taking orders for the JL-2A starting in October 2026. Priced at $4,995, this unique package is only $115 more than a similarly equipped Rubicon.
